ARE TRUE BELIEVERS IN CHRIST JESUS
SUPPOSED TO BE RICH?
SO ARE TRUE BELIEVERS IN CHRIST JESUS REALLY SUPPOSED TO BE RICH? THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE, WE ARE NOT DESTINED TO BE RICH BY THE STANDARDS OF THIS WORLD. BUT WE ARE TO BE RICH SPIRITUALLY.
PROSPERITY PREACHERS TEACH OF WORLDY RICHES. THEY ARE LEADING PEOPLE ASTRAY WITH THEIR INCESSANT BEGGING FOR MONEY AND EXTRAVAGGENT LIFESTYLES. THEIR ENTIRE WAY OF LIVING CONTRADICTS GOD’S WRITTEN WORD.
Luke 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. Luke 18:24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! Luke 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
GREED, COMBINED WITH THE MANIPULATION OF UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE WHO REALLY LOVE JESUS CATAPULT THESE FALSE TEACHERS INTO THEIR OWN PERSONAL GLORY, PREACHING THEIR OWN GOSPEL…
READ WHAT PAUL SAID ABOUT THIS: Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. SO ACCORDING TO THESE TWO VERSES, IF ANYONE PREACHES ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE GOSPEL, THAN THAT WAS PREACHED BY PAUL AND THE OTHER DISCIPLES OF JESUS, WILL BE ACCURSED.
LET’S FIND OUT WHAT GOSPEL THAT THEY PREACHED: 1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness. JESUS CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED IS THE ONLY TRUE GOSPEL.
THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL, IS A FALSE GOSPEL!!! THEY TEACH THAT JESUS WAS WORLDLY RICH WHICH AGAIN CONTRADICTS GOD’S WORD.
Jesus was poor, He was from Nazareth, a village of between 200 to 2,000 people, about 7 km. away from Sepphoris, a city of 40,000. He is described as a tekton or manual worker (” carpenter” in many translations). ” A tekton was at the lower end of the peasant class, more marginalized than a peasant who owned a small piece of land. We should not think of a tekton as being a step up from a subsistence farmer; rather, a tekton belonged to a family
that had lost its land”.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. JESUS IS THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE; THEREFORE EVERYTHING BELONGS TO HIM. WHEN HE CAME TO EARTH, BORN IN THE FLESH OF A WOMAN, HE WAS BORN TO A POOR FAMILY, HE BECAME POOR TO LEAD US UNTO SALVATION.
- to be rich, to have abundance
1. of outward possessions
- to be richly supplied
1. is affluent in resources so that he can give blessings of salvation to all.
- to make rich, enrich
1. of spiritual riches
2. to be richly furnished
Proverbs 11:28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. Proverbs 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Proverbs 23:5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
READ HOW JESUS SPOKE ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE OF HIS DAY… Matthew 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Matthew 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: Matthew 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. Matthew 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. Matthew 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, Matthew 23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues.
NOW READ HOW JESUS ACTUALLY SPOKE TO THE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE IN HIS DAY, THE PROSPERITY PREACHERS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN MODERN DAY PHARISEES AND JESUS OBVIOUSLY DESPISED THEM…
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matthew 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Matthew 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Matthew 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Matthew 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Matthew 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
- exceeding some number or measure or rank or need
- over and above, more than is necessary, superadded
- exceeding abundantly, supremely
- something further, more, much more than all, more plainly
- superior, extraordinary, surpassing, uncommon
- pre-eminence, superiority, advantage, more eminent, more remarkable, more excellent
- over and above, more than is necessary, superadded
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Mark 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
Matthew 8:19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. Matthew 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. JESUS WAS HOMELESS!!! Matthew 8:21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Matthew 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. (the spiritually dead, bury the physically dead)
THE FOLLOWING VERSES REVEAL THE BIBLICAL DESCRIPTION OF JESUS CHRIST:
Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Isaiah 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. Isaiah 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. ( “he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death”; JESUS WAS IN HELL WITH THE WICKED AND THE RICH)
NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT DESCRIBE JESUS AS A RICH MAN BY THE WORLD’S STANDARDS OF WEALTH NOR DOES IT IMPLY THAT BELEIVERS IN CHRIST JESUS SHOULD BE WEALTHY, IN FACT IT’S JUST THE OPPOSITE… Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Philippians 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
